ETTRICK "WINDWHEEL"

The Windwheel is a novel spinning machine. It is particularly light and portable.(3 - 3.5kg.)

When upright it stands at 800mm and the spindle is a convenient height of 650mm.
The Windwheel is available in Tasmanian Myrtle, Tasmanian Blackwood, Pine or N.Z. Rimu.
The highest quality materials are used throughout, and all wheels are thoroughly tested before dispatch.

The Windwheel spinning head rotates 6 times per treadle cycle.

The flyer wheel and pulley run on precision sealed ball bearings that require no lubrication.

The industrial duty drive belt is made of reinforced nylon, which has been selected for its strength and non-stretch qualities.

The Windwheel is sealed and lacquered to protect the timber from the grease and dirt found in fleece.

The Windwheel is supplied with 4 bobbins and a Lazy Kate.

Folding

By simply undoing a thumbscrew the Windwheel folds down to a compact 480 mm.

Packing

The compact size and shape of the Windwheel enables it to be sent by post.

For posting, the wheel is partly dismantled and all

components are packed in cushioning material for safe transport.

Re-assembly is straightforward - full instructions are supplied.

Ettrick Carder Blender

Carder blender - rear view

Triple Drum Carder/Blender

This carder has two opposed "worker" drums on each side of the swift.

This gives two simultaneous carding operations.

Lower relative speeds provide smoother, softer carding and blending.

Close fitting side plates ensure that the fibres are kept clear of the mechanism.

The drums are chain driven and run on ball bearings for easy operation and long maintenance free life.

Two models are available: 150 mm and 200mm wide.

Ettrick Wheels are available in the following timbers.
